1. Firstly, what did you do before you joined Norton?
I started working in finance when I left school but for a brief period of time before I came to Norton I worked in the travel industry. However, I found advising people where to go on holiday too heart-breaking - no one ever offered me a space in their suitcase!
2. You currently hold the position of Broker Liaison Manager, what five key words would you use to describe your role?
Targeted, challenging, varied, rewarding and fast-paced.
3. What prompted you to enter the secured loans industry?
I initially started in the mortgage industry but I didn’t set out to work specifically in secured. I wanted to work in finance in general.
4. What is the best thing about your job?
I would say the brokers. Without them my phone wouldn’t ring half as much… and my inbox wouldn’t be crashing!
5. What do you think has been the biggest challenge the industry has faced in the past few years?
The recession hit the market hard; the need for funds increased whilst the lenders willing to lend decreased. As a result lenders knuckled down on what they would and wouldn’t consider.
6. What did you want to be when you were younger?
Air hostess, I loved the outfits and the aeroplane food.
7. What do you want to achieve for Norton in 2012?
The Norton Group is well established in the industry but I think there is always room for improvement. I like to think big so I would love Norton Finance to be the ultimate one stop shop where every product available in the industry is available.
8. What other significant changes do you think will come into play in the secured lending industry during 2012?
Now lenders are starting to consider the whole deal, they are showing a slightly more flexible approach which can only get better.
9. What do you like to do on your weekends off?
I would like to work however I don’t think my colleagues would approve of the amount of emails they would receive on a Monday morning! If I am honest I like to just relax and do nothing.

Second to my bed… LA!
